Middle School Series

IVS offers three series of course options for Middle School students to help meet specific middle school needs. Our Middle School Series includes Full Service Courses, Learning Recovery, and Bridge courses.

Middle School Series courses follow the same registration and payment procedures as all IVS courses.

Full Service Courses

The Middle School Full Service Courses are full semester course options led by Illinois licensed teachers. Students can be enrolled in one of our Full Service Start Dates scheduled throughout the year.

The Middle School catalog includes English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies courses, as well as a World Language Survey introducing Spanish, French, Latin, and German to students. The following courses are available:

  • English Language Arts for Grades 6, 7, and 8
  • Mathematics for Grades 6, 7, and 8
  • Fundamentals of Geometry and Algebra
  • Pre-Algebra
  • Algebra 1
  • Ancient World History
  • US History
  • US History: Civics and Government
  • Life Science
  • Human Biology
  • Astronomy
  • Earth Science
  • Physical Science 1
  • Physical Science 2
  • World Language Survey

Learning Recovery Courses

Available in Summer Only

Learning Recovery courses are self-paced, teacher managed courses designed to help students with knowledge and skill recovery. Students stay on track with peers toward high school.

  • Grades 6, 7, and 8 English Language and Math options
  • $85 per enrollment

Bridge Courses

Available in Summer Only

The Bridge courses are self-paced, teacher managed courses targeting students during the summer months to help them prepare for the next grade level. Students start the next school year with secure content knowledge and skills.

  • Grades 6,7, and 8 English Language and Math options
  • Reading Skills and Strategies Bridge is targeted to prepare students for Freshman year
  • Writing Skills and Strategies Bridge is targeted to prepare students for Freshman year
  • $85 per enrollment
