Registrars, Mentors And Coaches

When a school becomes a Partner School with IVS, the school must identify three key people at the face-to-face school who will support a student's online learning:  the Building Registrar, the Student Mentor, and the Technology Contact.

 

Building Registrar Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains the school’s credentials.
  2. Approves OR Denies student course requests through MAESTRO
  3. Requests disability services for students with IEPs/504 education plans.
  4. Shares Minimum System Requirements with Technology Contact
  5. Processes student’s request to drop a course. (An email is sent to the Registrar when a student goes into MAESTRO and requests to drop a course.)
  6. Processes student’s request for an extension using Request for Extension
  7. Secures enrollment fees ($250 per course) and processes IVS invoices.
  8. Processes Completion Certificates.
  9. Returns any materials to IVS once student is finished with the course.
  10. May add additional Mentors and/or add and assign Coaches to individual students.

 

Student Mentor Responsibilities:

  1. Monitors all student progress using MAESTRO
  2. Reviews Student Contact Information for accuracy and resolves inaccurate/missing information.
  3. Periodically checks in with student.
  4. Access to IVS Instructor.
  5. May add additional Mentors and/or add and assign Coaches to individual students.

 

Student Coach Responsibilities:

  1. Monitors assigned student progress using MAESTRO
  2. Works consistently with student; usually in the same room as student.
  3. Access to IVS Instructor.

 

Technology Contact Responsibilities:

  1. Supports student with technology issues, if needed.
  2. Reviews the Help Guide "Preparing Your Computer for IVS Courses".
