Ed Cook

Ed came to IVS in 2015 as the Customer Service Lead. He loves interacting with students, parents, and local school officials. In 2017, he added the role of Credit Recovery Specialist to his duties. He works with all IVS’ Credit Recovery Students to provide technical support and promote their success in the program. Ed has worked with IVS administration and faculty to revise the Credit Recovery procedures and policies, which has resulted in an increased success rate.

Prior to coming to IVS, Ed spent the better part of his adult life ‘living in a van down by the river’ working as a white water rafting guide. He has explored the mountains and rivers of most of the Western United States and Central America. After the birth of their first child, Ed and his wife moved back to rural Illinois to be close to family. He is an extremely proud father of a 5 year old daughter, a 3 year old son, and an 8 year old basset hound. He describes fatherhood as his “biggest adventure yet”. When he’s not in the office, you may have to search hard for Ed as he’s always outside. He’s an avid gardener, angler, hunter, backpacker, climber, mountain biker, and whitewater kayaker.
