Online Courses for Educators
Our online courses are self-paced, which means you progress through the course without scheduled due dates or assignment deadlines. The only deadline is to complete the course by the scheduled end date. Adequate time is provided that will allow you to complete a course during the designated window of access.
Illinois Virtual School, through the Peoria County ROE #48, is an approved PD Provider with the Illinois State Board of Education.
You may complete the course sooner than the scheduled end date, and your PD Clock Hour form will reflect the date you are finalized in the course rather than the scheduled end date. Please allow 24-72 hours from the time you finish the course to the time your PD Clock Hour is available for download.

Providing Effective Feedback In the online world, one of the most important things you do as an instructor is to provide feedback on student work. Feedback is critical to student learning. The feedback that you give to students will be the main avenue through which students evaluate their progress, successes, and failures. In this course, you will discover different feedback strategies and the appropriate actions you may integrate to offer feedback to your students efficiently. The strategies explored may also help improve time management, increase learner engagement, and foster positive communications with your online learners. |

Creating and Using Effective Mini Video Lessons (or Microlectures) How can you increase your instructor presence and human touch while delivering an online course? This online course will introduce you to a successful online teaching behavior gaining traction across the online and remote learning landscape, "microlectures." Microlectures are an abbreviated format of online video, that can be integrated into your online, remote, blended, or face-to-face course. They are easy to integrate into the curriculum because they can be used in a variety of ways and are short enough to fit almost anywhere. This course will share examples and resources to help you integrate and/or create a microlecture. |
